The improvement in diesel engine technology has been one of the big advances in reducing carbon emissions. Kia has over 30 years experience in designing, developing and producing diesel engines and is at the forefront of diesel engine technology. Advances such as Common Rail Diesel Injection (CRDi) and Variable Geometry Turbochargers (VGT) are commonplace on Kia diesel engines and have the advantage of significantly reducing CO2 emissions and increasing power compared to similar petrol engines.
