Using a front view camera and front radar, FCA can detect a vehicle, a pedestrian, or a cyclist ahead, and warn you, or even brake automatically. It will also brake automatically if it senses the risk of an oncoming vehicle from left or right at an intersection ahead.

When operating the turn signal switch to change lanes, BCA provides a warning if there is a risk of collision with a rear side vehicle. 

Remote Smart Parking Assist helps remotely park or exit a parking spot from outside the vehicle.

With the Niro Hybrid models, the hybrid system relies on the electric engine to get you going and during mild acceleration. When you need more acceleration the petrol engine will automatically kick in and will work together with the electric motor to get you up to the desired speed.

The Hybrid Niro is powered by a durable lithium-ion battery generating 1.56kWh and efficiently controls electrical energy and cools more effectively. Safely positioned below the rear seats, the battery comes with a 7 year warranty or 160,000 km (whichever comes first).

Compared to non-hybrid cars you may notice the Niro slows faster when your foot is off the accelerator. While you are braking or coasting with your foot off the accelerator, the Niro Hybrid converts momentum into energy to recharge the battery.

The Niro features a highly responsive 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission (DCT) that delivers dynamic acceleration and a smoother transmission.

The Niro can adjust to the way you like to drive. Switch from Normal to Sport mode for zip, or to Eco mode for extended charge range.

Based on navigation data or driver input, SRS 1.0 improves hybrid range and stability by optimizing regenerative braking and coasting.
