What started as thousands of hours of research and development ended with an extensive million-kilometre drive to refine the build quality, reliability and performance.

Our designers explored every factor known to affect the performance, comfort, confidence and pleasure of both the driver and passengers. And they didn’t stop until they’d created an SUV designed around you.

The result - a Kia that includes monitors to tell you when your tyres need inflating, cruise control that automatically adjusts to the speed of the vehicle ahead of you, electric four-way lumbar support in the driver’s seat, and USB ports for the electronics kids love to use in the back seat.

Our Global Quality Centre set out to produce a vehicle with absolutely zero defects. All electronic components within the powertrain and the cabin were tested in our advanced component quality assessment room. The cabin performance was tested for vibration, wind and road noise, and humidity. And all comfort levels were assessed, along with ergonomics for both the driver and passengers.

Then came reality. Finished vehicles were driven 1.1 million kilometres in extremes of bitter cold to intense heat, at high altitude and sea level, through the dusty storms of deserts and the congestion of cities. The purpose – to test every aspect of the vehicle’s performance against the most demanding measures. The new Kia Sorento not only met expectations, it exceeded them.

Rear USB port

Long family trips just aren’t what they use to be. Instead of playing ‘I Spy’ and ‘Twenty Questions’ where kids were constantly looking out the window, they’re now listening to their own music or playing on tablets and phones.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Safety technologies like Adaptive Cruise Control help keep you out of harm’s way… even when you go into cruise mode too.

The advanced radar-based system keeps a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front by reducing your speed when they slow down, and returns to your pre-set speed if the vehicle ahead speeds up or pulls away.
