Connected to your surroundings

The 2021 Stinger features a comprehensive suite of Kia’s most advanced safety technology.

Forward Collision Avoidance Assist – Car, Pedestrian, Cyclist & Junction

Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning is the latest development of this technology. In addition to vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist detection, the system now also detects other road users on more acute angles, such as at an intersection, helping the driver safely navigate through, and applying the brakes if it detects an imminent collision.

Blind Spot View Monitor

The innovative Blind Spot View Monitor display enhances the driver's rearward vision by showing you a high resolution live video feed on the dashboard when you indicate a turn or lane change.

Safe Exit Assist

Safe Exit Assist prevents the rear doors opening if the system detects a hazard approaching from behind the vehicle, such as a cyclist or another vehicle.

7 airbags

To help protect occupants and potentially reduce injuries in the event of a collision, the Stinger offers driver and front passenger airbags, 2 front-side airbags, 2 side-curtain airbags, and a driver’s knee airbag as standard.

Ultimate comfort and luxury

Intimate yet expansive. Minimal yet luxurious. The cocoon-like interior features aircraft like-styling, metal-ringed gauges, and satin chrome trim.

10.25” colour LCD touchscreen

Easy to read and operate, the vivid 'floating' 10.25 inch colour LCD touch screen combines important vehicle information with controls that can play audio files from connected devices.

Heated & ventilated front seats

Ventilated front seats provide 3-stage cooling airflow on hot days, and more effective and thorough heating on cold days. Both the seat cushion and the seatback feature airflow perforations to keep more of the body in a state of comfort.

Integrated memory system

The Integrated Memory System saves two pre-sets for driver’s seating positions, outside rearview mirrors, Head up Display and cluster display.

Frameless rearview mirror

New for 2021, the rearview mirror is now frameless, elevating the Stinger’s modern interior and improving rear visibility.

Dual-zone climate control

A standard dual-zone full auto temperature control system along with rear seat climate control gives the driver and all passengers separate controls, allowing people with different climate needs to ride together in comfort.

4-way lumbar support with cushion extension

Air Cell Lumbar Support for the 8-way power driver seat lets you reposition areas of resistance in the seatback, up-and-down and side-to-side, for maximum comfort and support. To help relieve fatigue, an optional thigh extension for the driver moves the front edge of the seat base forward, supporting a larger area of the driver's thighs.

Sophistication is in the detail

Designed in Kia’s European studio under the hand of Kia's Head of Design, Peter Schreyer, the Stinger is an uncompromising rendition of the true Gran Turismo ethos.

Dark chrome finished outside mirrors & trim

The dark chrome finish of the trim and wing mirror conveys refined, performance oriented luxury while adding to the stunning look of the Stinger.

19” alloy wheels

Available on the GT Line and GT SportTM, aggressive 19" alloy wheels speak to the deep Gran Turismo sentiments of drivers everywhere.

350 mm front disc brakes with Brembo® red brake calipers

On the GT Line and GT SportTM, the red Brembo® brake calipers provide better braking power that is immediately more noticeable.

Full LED headlamps with cornering headlight control

Full LED headlamps demonstrate that Stinger uses the best technology where it provides more intense lighting with less power consumption. Cornering headlight control offers a clearer and safer night time driving experience, with the headlamps designed to turn as the steering wheel does.

Rear LED lamps & quad exhaust pipes

Modern, stylish LED lights illuminate to add to the Stinger's signature look. While four oval exhaust tips announce that the Stinger is ahead.

The epitome of grand touring

Smart technology integrated into the all new Stinger enables ultimate focus on the road and a premium driving experience.

Colour Head up Display

With the customisable and height adjustable Head Up Display (HUD), key driving information is discretely projected onto the windshield in your line of sight so that you can safely focus on the road ahead. Vehicle speed, cruise control, audio and Blind Spot Detection information are included and can be personalised

Dynamic Stability Damping Control

While aiming to predict the driver's inputs, depending on road conditions and driving style, the Dynamic Stability Damping Control (DSDC) can be tuned to respond with more agility to improve high-speed stability points during vigorous driving.

Around View Monitor with Dynamic Guidelines

This intuitive system combines 4 wide angle images from cameras at the front, rear and sides of the vehicle to give you a bird’s eye view of your surroundings while parking or moving at speeds below 20 km/h.

Harmon Kardon® premium sound system with 15 speakers

The Harman Kardon® sound system includes subwoofers that resonate in hollow parts of the frame and body. Clari-Fi technology enhances digitally compressed music while Active Sound Design augments acceleration, shifting and suspension sounds for an enhanced driving experience.

Smart power tailgate

The hands free Smart Power Tailgate opens automatically within three seconds when you stand close to the rear of the vehicle without having to reach for your key.

Power up your drive

A car for spirited long-distance driving, the Stinger combines high power with handling grace.

Lambda 3.3 TT-GDi engine

A twin turbocharger helps this V6 engine achieve considerable torque over a broad rpm range. The exhaust manifold is integrated with the cylinder head for added power and an electronic thermostat helps provide precise temperature control. Now featured on all 2021 Stinger models, a Bi-modal electric variable exhaust valve further improves performance, increasing power to 274 kW.

Theta II 2.0 T-GDi engine

A twin-scroll turbocharger boosts low to mid rev efficiency while newly applied technologies provide phenomenal combustion efficiency. The engine produces maximum power output of 182 kW at 6,200 rpm and maximum torque output of 353 Nm from 1,400 to 4,000 rpm.

Kia New Zealand

Delays for new vehicle arrivals

There is currently a worldwide shortage of the key electronic components required in many parts of a new vehicle. Without these components (called “semi-conductors”) the assembly of a new vehicle can be delayed, or in some cases can be impossible. Kia NZ is working closely with Kia Corporation to optimise NZ Kia production however delays are currently being experienced for NZ Kia customers.

Depending on the model and specification, delays can range from six weeks to six months plus. Your Kia dealer can advise you of the expected lead time for your specific vehicle. If you would like to contact us please click here. We would like to thank all of our customers for their support and patience during this time.
